About Us

BioSafe Systems is a family-owned and operated manufacturer of biorational pesticides used in agribusiness. We’re one of the country’s largest manufacturers of peroxyacetic acid (PAA) and have pioneered many of the applications used in agriculture, horticulture, and water treatment.

BioSafe Systems is based in East Hartford, Connecticut, and was founded by Rob Larose in 1998 and is currently operated by his daughter, Lauren Crane, as CEO. The core of Rob Larose’s character was taking care of people, and that instinct guides the company’s standards professionally and personally. The company’s key principles reflect our commitment to a sustainable legacy that creates a positive impact on our environment, communities, and employees.

Our Legacy

From its inception, this company has manufactured a sustainable composition of chemicals used to support a thriving future for people and the planet. Both in the field and in the office, the tenets of sustainability are expressed through the honesty of our people and the reliability of our products and practices, and a reverence for the necessity of progress. For 25 years, BioSafe Systems has been committed to creating positive change.

Our Mission

The mission of BioSafe Systems is to provide reduced-risk chemistries that do not negatively impact the health and safety of people and the environment. We are a solution-oriented company that’s become a reliable resource for our core industries. The integrity of BioSafe Systems is supported by a quarter-century of practices that prove sustainability is effective. We gather knowledge and share resources to advance our capabilities in business, research and development, and compliance. We partner with universities, associations, and research organizations to create new applications and formulations of our sustainable chemistry to better serve our customers.

Commitment to Sustainability

Sustainability is not the easiest path for products; the increased regulations, the additional testing and research and the added agencies involved in the certification process makes it a more difficult process, but we believe it is the right path. It’s not a popularity contest, or a sales pitch; sustainability is a deliberate focus on conserving resources and preserving both economic and social values. Our history of commitment to sustainable practices makes us proud, and we look forward to maintaining a legacy of sustainability.
